Does anyone have experience connecting a Falcon F16v(3) to a Holidaycoro Dumb RGB controller #43? Is it as simple as connecting the F16 DMX port to the dumb RGB controller and identifying the DMX address on it? I finally dug out the controller, power supplies, and a few thousand dumb pixels. Maybe this can be something for next year.

If it is just plain old DMX then I would think it would be simple.  I am sending simple DMX from a Falcon PiCap to a Lynx box.  Does the dumb controller use plain old DMX or a LOR type protocol?

I think you're right. I did find this a little while ago and it seems to confirm just that.

HolidayCoro devices that use CAT5 wire for DMX signals (excluding E1.31 devices) are intended to be wired using pins 1 and 2 of CAT5 wiring (568B) for their RS485 DMX input signal. If you are using the Entec Pro/Open, LOR Dongle or LOR iDMX-1000 as an output for your DMX signal, you will need to build an adapter cable using the instructions below or you can purchase our ActiDongle which includes XLR 3 Pin and CAT5 outputs.

Now the question is, do I use serial port 1 or 2 (3 is being used for LOR controllers)? I see on the pinout for the Falcon control the ports, in DMX mode, are somewhat different. I'm thinking I should use 2.
