F16v3 Pixel Controller, 1 exspanion board and 3 smart differential receivers

I have F16V3 with a expansion board and 3 smart differential Receivers and with nothing on, the lights on the smart differential receiver with 50 nodes are on. I have only 1 smart receiver connected as A and terminated. You can see it in the pictures.

I did the light test on the smart receiver and everything works great, but when I do any test from the falcon nothing happens on the receiver. I put another set of lights on port 1 of the F16V3 and it works great but still nothing out to the receiver.

Lights on receiver remain on.

Anybody know why the lights on the receiver would be on? Tested all 3 smart receivers and they are the same.

did you configure it in the f16v3 serial outputs page?

No I just let xlights do it.

As soon as I plug the cat6 cable in the controller the lights come on.

That is what they are supposed to do.  The lights IFAIK, only show that you have a valid connection between the F16 and the receiver.  Your current configuration has ports 30, 31, and 32 all in the same channel range as port 29.  You have defined port 29 to start at channel 1 for 50 nodes.  That would put the end channel at 150 as shown in the configuration screen.  You then defined port 30 to start at channel 43 which is within the channel range of port 29 and the same is true for ports 31 and 32 as well.  As for the falcon test not working, you need to check the definition of the connector on the F16 that you are using and make sure that it is defined properly for output of those ports on that connection.  If not, then while the lights on the receiver will still light up, there will not be any channel data going there.

I think there may be a failure to communicate.  I think XmasElf is talking about the 50 pixels on the first string, not the status LEDs on the receiver board.

xlights will not do all of the configuration you need, you need to add manual config to the serial outputs page to tell it you want to run pixel data out the 4 dmx ports

Thanks darylc........I read the manual and must have missed that part. I knew that the top RJ45 on the controller was for the smart receivers but had no idea that the serial ports outputs need to be configured. I also noticed that the lights on the smart receiver started to light upon enabling the output setting. (they were all lite before) So I assume that if I only want to used 1 port on each of the boards I would only have to configure the serial output #1 in the setting.

My smart receiver boards are v1.03 and I just used the v1.00 to 1.02 manual. I still do have a grasp on dmx 1,2,and 3, like if i want to had 2 dmx rotating spot lights on 2 and 3 dmx. (plan for  the future)
