Getting an error on Initial Set up of v 8.2 FPP

I'm trying to install FPP v8.2 on my Beagle Bone Black.  I am able to get through most of the Initial Setup but when I get down to the Time Zone setting I get an error "Unable to save setting"  I was setting the Time Zone to "America/New York".  So when I click on the "Finish Setup" button I get an error, "Error with PUT to api/settings/initialSetup-02".  I've tried using several different SD cards but get the same error every time. 
I still have the SD card with v7.2 on it.  But am hesitant to try and upgrade that.  
What do I need to do?

There have been a few problems reported installing 8.x FPP on BBB. Do you need 8.x for some reason? Run with 7.x and you will be good for this season.

If you want to try "something", popping into the xLights zoom room and raising your hand will get some of the people who know FPP the best helping you in real time.

I installed it on 7 BBB controllers no problem and know of dozens more. Where are these reports?
