Hi All,

FPPD Crashing - I would be grateful for your help on this one....

I have x2 set-ups x1 RPi4 with Falcon PiCap and a separate unit which is a RPi3B with a Falcon PiCap, both set-ups are using a licenced version of PiHat (DPIPixels - allows onboard audio), I used these set-ups previous last year to run my lights but now i have this issue.

I have created a sequence using XLights which when played via XLights (ie using the Output to lights option) works fine.
However when i save and then upload the .fseq to either set-up it crashes when i go to play it.

On clicking play i get a red error banner (see attached image) "FPPD Daemon is not running" and on the status bar it shows FPPD Stopped. I'm unable to restart the service and I have to do a power off and on the unit to get it to restart.

Worst still, when i try to use the Display testing option in FPP on the Rpi4 set-up (which is running a newly updated FPP V9.2) it also crashes and has to be re-powered, however the RPi3B set-up does at least run the display testing option.

Thoughts or things to try.... what's causing FPPD to crash???

Thanks all

AAH

The reason may be in the logs but good luck trying to understand them. Maybe upload the logs here to see if the gurus can work out a reason.
To get going I'd pull the 9.2 SD cards out and swap to 8.4 and see if the fault continues. Keeping the 9.2 image would allow swapping back to the faulty version if any of the gurus want a specific test done.

Start by uninstalling any plugins...

Hi All,

Still scratching my head on this one, no plugins or command presets and the log (attached to original post) doesn't help......

I'd be grateful for any suggestions...... does the  DPIPixels - allows onboard audio (licenced) have a maximum output that i'm hitting??
@AAH - Thanks will have a play and see if it give me any more clues

Thanks

AAH

Not likely to be an issue but the date and maybe time are out.
The DPI pixels licence breaks all sorts of things when initially signing but no idea when it's running.
