If using the 5V connector to power a BeagleBone Black (BBB) from 1 of my Octoscrolla or similar boards that allow the BBB to be powered via the headers rather than the power connection then some/all BBB variants require a fast voltage rise of the 5V for the power circuitry in the BBB to be happy and to power up. Some power supplies don't meet the 500us (?) rise time for the BBB power IC so a switch to turn on the 5V after the power supply has been turned on is an alternative. I had issues myself with my Chinese made 350W 5V supply than ran my P10 matrix.

Good to know. I am awaiting my BBBs but I have several of your Octoscrolla boards

Thanks for the headsup.
