Did anyone ever come up with anything for streaming?  I use Zara Radio on my LOR machine to play music on the off hours with time, temp and voice overs.  I created two executables that are called from LOR that shut it down and start it up before and after the show.  I have been amazed that the process has never failed me in four years.

I would think mine would even work if I could send a command from the Pi to my windows machine to stop/start Zara on my windows box.  I could then feed both the Pi sound and Zara sound channels into my mixer and only one would be active at a time.

I'm just not sure how this could be done cross platform.

you may not need to port your solutions to linux and the fpp... you might consider using the sync packets generated by the fpp to sync a windows-based app.  Or build a windows "master" that drives one or more FPP slaves using the sync packets.

This sounds interesting but I'm not sure I follow.

i am suggesting that you might use windows machines where they have a strength that FPP or linux does not have, and FPP where windows is not strong.  Each could communicate with the others in the 'show network' by the sync packets that tell the other elements where they are in the show.
